1 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the FreeLock mobile application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2 Description of Service
FreeLock is a privacy-first app blocking application. It allows you to:
- • Block selected apps using Apple's Screen Time framework
- • Register NFC cards or tags as physical unlock keys
- • Set emergency unlock methods (passcode + biometrics)
- • Configure optional accountability contacts
- • View local audit logs of lock/unlock events
All processing occurs on your device. No app blocking data is sent to any server.
3 Use License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use FreeLock for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- • Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on FreeLock
- • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code
- • Use FreeLock for any illegal purpose
- • Attempt to disable or circumvent any security features
- • Distribute or sell FreeLock or access to FreeLock
4 Physical Tokens
You are responsible for the physical security of your NFC cards or tags:
- • Keep your unlock cards in a secure location
- • You are responsible for registering and managing your tokens
- • Lost tokens can be removed via Emergency Unlock
- • We recommend registering multiple tokens as backup
5 Limitations of Liability
FREELOCK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- • We are NOT liable for loss or damage if you lose access to your device or apps
- • We are NOT liable for lost or stolen NFC tokens
- • We are NOT liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
You are responsible for maintaining access to your emergency unlock methods. Emergency unlock is always available via passcode + biometrics.
6 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use FreeLock to:
- • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- • Block apps on devices you do not own or control
- • Circumvent parental controls or device management policies
- • Distribute malware or harmful code
7 Subscriptions
FreeLock may offer optional premium features via subscription:
- • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- • You can cancel anytime in the App Store settings
- • Pricing and features are subject to change with notice
- • Refunds for auto-renewal charges must be requested through the App Store
8 Intellectual Property
FreeLock's design, code, and user interface are our intellectual property. You may not copy, distribute, or modify them without permission.
9 Third-Party Services
FreeLock uses:
- • Apple Screen Time APIs — Your app blocking preferences are processed locally by your device. Apple Privacy Policy
We are not responsible for third-party services.
10 Limitation of Service
FreeLock depends on:
- • Your device's NFC hardware capabilities
- • Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls frameworks
- • iOS updates and compatibility
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or availability.
11 Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to FreeLock if you violate these Terms or applicable laws.
12 Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of FreeLock means you accept the updated Terms.
13 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or FreeLock will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
14 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FreeLock regarding the Service.
